Description

The listing, Native-American Inspired Earings ( 3 pair) has ended.

This auction is for three pair of Native-American Inspired earings. I say inspired, because two pair may have been bought in the four corners region outisde Monument Valley (I'm 80% positive but from which tribal vendors I'm not sure). The other pair I'm unsure of it's orgin. All earings are in superb condition, two have never even been worn

None of these earings are marked silver or gold. I have no idea what material they are made of.
Specifics/Descriptions:

Pair 1: a round blue dangle base with three smaller dangle pieces: a teal/gold color roadrunner; a dark adobe feather; a purple feather .Earings are 2.3 inches long, 1 inch wide.

Pair 2: a small square dangle suspended by a little blue stone in a silver-COLORED setting. One half of the earing is opal COLORED, the other half is salmon. The colors are seperated in the middle by a silver staircase. Earings are 2 inches long , 1.3 inches wide.

Pair 3:Round Colorful Oval Posts. Earings are 1.8 inches long , 1 inch wide. Earings have a dark blue middle surrounded by a yellow sunburst pattern bordered in gold and surrounded by teal.

No Phx. is where I live., but I have been all over the Reservation lands in Az.. Here's where I have been. When I lived in Northern Arizona my roomate grew up with and was best friends with the medicine man from the Yavapai tribe so he used to come see us all the time and take us on walks through his reservation lands and point out sacred things to us. Also a friend of mine worked wrote and directed a small independent film called "Native Wisdom" we had to go to the Tohono O'odham Tribal Lands and work with the shadow wolves. The land stretches from the edge of Arizona into Mexico in the shadow of the sacred mtns.It is a very magical place.

I can get you a copy. We were all very dissapointed with the final product becuase like I said the sound people SCREWED up a lot! It was awful we lost a lot of orginal music and everything. I think I have the outTakes and background info, you might like that as well. I will look through the office for a copy for you and let you know what I find. They did sell the rights to a distributor and a very famous Native American writer who has written many other films was scheduled to work on turning it into a feature but he never did so the contract went void and someone started making a similar movie. I will look for you and let you know when I find the specific DVDS.

Do you know if they ever got the chance to sell it. Would love to see it all the way through. I collect native movies as well. My collection is small but I hope to get a good quantity of them.

Wish I had that opprotunity to walk the sacred lands in Arizona.... When I did go to Arizona we stood in a group and only went to the events. Would need to call my friend to see if we can make it a point to explore more. Sounds wonderful ^-^ I will check out the website. Thanks for sharing =)

I'm pretty sure I know where your Rev is , there's one by Nogales and one in Gila river right? Well if you come this way (AZ) you must come and see me and we will go there to see her!!She is an elder and has a lot of wisdom to share.

That would be great ^-^ I would surely bid on it. Yes the buffalo earrings I got from here a few months ago. They are one of my favs to wear and I get alot of compliments. I kind of did a design on my bracelet but I'm working on another one. Would put up one of my tribe but it might get me in trouble. We are very protective of our culture. We will see, maybe I'll use the colors of our flag. Somehow work it in a design and maybe a deer in the middle. I don't know if I mentioned it but I am Pascua Yaqui and our Rev is in Arizona. I have been to the Rev only once and hope to go again soon. =)

Wow that sounds awesome. I would love to see a picture of the buffalo bone earings, did you do any tribal designs with your beaded bracelt? That is so hard to do!!!I've never tried it but one of my ex -coworkers is Navajo and she was really good at, she used to weave really nice baskets to. She used to try and teach me but I was soo MISSERABLE AT IT!! (LOL) . My mother's best friend is Mohawk and she brings me very nice sacred baskets all the time with really good sage and some really nice medicine pouches and dream catchers. But I could never put one up here that would be wrong. But I was thinking of encouraging her to make a basket just to be put up here and then explaining all the different elements.

Yeah, I put them on while wearing my buffalo bone earrings and I just love them. Need to say I can wear at least 3 pairs at once. ^-^ Always looking for something nice =) Also, my association is haveing a gathering this summer and it would be nice to raffle a pair for the ladies. I always make a few extra jewlery to put on the raffle table. Last year a made a beaded bracelet with "Yaqui" spelled out on it and presented it to the man who was the one that brought the Kolencia for us as a gift. Was so nervous on if he would like it or not. LOL
