Up for consideration today is a very nice ambrotype photograph from the 1860s. Ambrotypes are made of glass, and the image is visible when the back side is painted with dark paint. This photo has a very nicely dressed husband and wife. The wife is wearing some very pretty jewelry which has been tinted with gold.

This is a 1/9th ambrotype which measures 2 1/2" by 1 7/8". It is matted and framed and in a full case with velvet on the other side. The ambrotype is in very good condition for its age, but there are a few minor issues: some scratches on the photo, some tarnish on the brass, and some brown tape has been placed on the case's exterior hinge. I have supplied detailed photos of the picture and they are a part of the description--please review them carefully.
