One of my favorite pieces, a silvertone vase with a raised image of a goddess. This style of artistic jewelry was created in direct response to the art deco movement which was all about angles and shapes, I've learned. Art Nouveau was for those that preferred a more ornate custom or one of a kind look. Forgive me, I'm fairly new to collecting and while I've always appreciated art, I'd never really paid attention to the history. This piece is of excellent quality and condition. It has a wonderful patina that glows softly. It is on it's original chain which is also in excellent condition. Unfortunately, I have no clue as to it's metal content. Silverwash was popular during this time period and it is a hefty piece. Not heavy, but definitely not cheaply made.
