This is a vintage Japanese lacquered music/jewelry box,the music box works fine,it's familiar pretty music but not sure what it is,it has a mirror inside with Mt.Fuji pictured, it's a lovely deep burgundy color,4 legs(intact) a lock(sorry no key) a set of double drawers inside ,it's lined with blue velvet or velveteen,is missing one little tassel from right hand drawer, has normal wear for it's age, but the edges have been restored(I can include some touch up paint,I've done restoration for many yrs,Just please ask if you'd like it. )Most of these older boxes were from the 50's to the 1970's and most has more serious issues.This one is in overall good condition.Plus it has been restored so as you can see it looks very nice! It's 7 1/4" x 4 1/2"x 5" The colors are still rich , painting is all intact, as is the Mother of pearl(abalone) on top. It's a real treasure chest and will look great on any dresser or bureau! Music box were incredibly sought after in the vintage days and are making a comeback! Don't miss out on this one!!
