This is a plush ape, chimpanzee or monkey. 11" tall. Can suck on either thumb. Made by Atlantic Novelty a division of GERBER Products. Made in Taiwan. Probably in the 1960s or 70s. All new materials. Stuffed with synthetic fibers, acrylic/cotton she'll, vinyl face and hands. Fine condition. No problems. Great as a collectible or child's toy.

Just wanted to let you know this is older than you think. I have the identical monkey, my dad was born in 1950 and it was his childhood fav toy. It was given to him at 7 years old so it has to be at least 1957.

The one I have has seen better days because of how much it was loved. I may bid on this one just to have a nicer one to out with my dads.

I wouldn't be surprised at a 1957 date. I had my beloved J Fred Muggs back in the 50s. I would love to find a replacement.

Yes, I know. I have some Monchichi monkey pies listed on another well known site. Have you head of the ones stuffed with gunpowder? They are rare, but illegal to list. So mine sits at home. Maybe I'll look for a local buyer who will come pick it up rather than ship.
