Description

The listing, Cloth Diaper Mystery Auction Tiered has ended.

You asked for it. HERE IT IS: This is a cloth diaper mystery auction. I will include cloth diapering items based on the bid amount.

The auction could include:
Cloth wipes
Snappi
Cloth diaper cover
AIO cloth diaper
One size cloth diaper
Pre-folds
Cloth diaper safe detergent

All items will be in excellent condition. I can not guarantee that they will be brand new. I will not be able to include a brand new diaper if the bids are not very high. If the bids are really high I will give the winner a choice of brands to choice from and size diaper. You can also specify gender too.

If the bids go over 500 I will offer free shipping. If the bids do not go over 500 the shipping will probably be a flat rate box either the 4.95 or 10.70. I will have to see how big a box I will need.

Happy Bidding.

umeeliees3, you should look up the statistics on disposable diapers and illness. If he's worried about cding from a illness point of view statistics actually say disposable diaper babies are more likely to get sick. that's actualy the whole reason we cd. My son has infant onset asthma and when we were looking into what we can do for him one of the things we found was that disposable diapers are linked to a higher rate of and worse severity of asthma- the same is true with most illness.

changing a cloth diaper isn't any different then changing a disposable. at all. in fact my husband perfers changing cloth because at least cloth contains the messy poop. disposables don't and you end up with an even bigger mess half the time trying to change them.

I personally use both cloth and disposable diapers. I use cloth at home and disposable when we go out. If I run out of disoseable I have used cloth out of my house also. They're very easy to use when you get used to it. I figured that if I wore them when I was little, my kids could try to use them also. The part I like is that I never run out of diapers. If I don't get to the store to get disposables when we go out it's not a big deal, because I can just use cloth. All I have to do is put them in the washer when I have a load to do and that is it. I put the diaers on a small wash load so it doesn't take much time to wash or dry. I"m so glad that I decided to use them. Just give them a try, you won't regret it. The cloth diapers I use are the old fashion ones that I use 2 safety pins, the cloth diaper, and a cover.

I know it's a mystery auction as far as the exact diapers, but I'm hesitant to bid not knowing at what credit value I can expect how many diapers. For example, if you could do something like tell us at this many credits we can get this many used diapers or this many new diapers (personally I don't mind used diapers so a choice between the two would be fine with me) so for example at 500 credits how many used diapers could be expect and so forth.. and at what credit point would it nolonger be just prefolds and etc... I would be much more likely to bid with a better idea of this. thansk so much!

I have not purchased anything for this auction yet. I have a great shop here in Katy that sells new and used diapers and supplies. At 100 I will include some wipes, snappi, and some prefolds. At 200 will be a choice of used cover or diaper, at 300 I will add some detergent and some more small items, At 400 I will add another used cover or diaper, At 500 I will add a new cloth diaper or cover. Now all level are negotiable because whoever is the winner will get to choose what they want from a list of items. They can have more used if they want a great quanity or they can have new items but not as many. Most new diapers at the shop are from 15-20.00 or more so you get more if you buy used.

you don't have to use "special" detergent on cloth dipes btw. we've been CD'ing for 2+ years and we prefer using Regular Tide over anything. The Diaper Swappers and Cloth Diaper Nation forums are great resources for getting all sorts of info on CD'ing, as well as getting great deals on used dipes or selling your own. ;) I'm also Duck411 on both those forums. Any of you are welcome to facebook me if you have CD questions. ;) www.facebook.com/duck411

that is why i said everyone has their own preference. Some message boards and people have told me not to use tide, so it is up to what you want to do or follow.

Everyone has their won preference. Some of the detergents people use are Allens, Country Safe, Rockin' Green. I currently have some seven generation but I use 1/3 the amount you use on normal clothing. You have to use a detergent that is natural and does not stay in the diapers. To wash you have to do a cold rinse, a hot cycle with a little detergent and then a second rinse with white vinegar, Everyone does it differntly depending on what knid of water they have or how sensitive their child is. It is possible to mess up cloth diapers and have to strip them using various methods. You also can only use certain diaper creams if any at all because it will stain or harm your diapers.

I have not started cloth diapering yet, but I have been educating myself quite a bit. From what I have been told people have fewer or no blowouts with cloth diapers compared to sposies. Cloth diapers have really changed over the years. They can actually be easier than sposies. When your baby is a n infant and not eating solid foods you don't even have to rinse your diapers before putting them into your wetbag. Once they start solids you dump the waste into the toilet some people use a sprayer or brush to help and then put the diaper in the wetbag before washing. If you use cloth wipes you don't have to even throw anything away, so no trash. You do have to use special detergent and care with cloth diapers, but they can save alot of money if you have more than one child that uses them.

Would you tell me how you use this stuff? I have been thinking about using cloth diapers for this baby because in the long run its cheaper and better for the environment. I have three other children and have only used disposable diapers, so could you explain or send directions on how to fold or put on diapers etc? Sorry so long.Thank you! Andrea
