My mistake. I didn't know the slim version was equipped with an IR. Also there seems to be a fat version that also had a built in IR sensor. None of mine had that and my slim versions wouldn't work without the reciever.

Thanks for all the info! My old PS2 apparently had the receiver built into it, so I wasn't aware that some models required the receiver as a separate piece. Hopefully my last update w/ model numbers helps!

It's a remote that works with Playstation 2's, so your PS2 acts as the receiver :)

That's a pic of the remote with the reciever. PS2s don't work with wireless tech without a reciever in the controller ports.
