Tubular, petunia-like, purple, pink and white flowers last for only one day, but bloom freely in succession from spring to frost on this clumping tender perennial shrub.
Plants grow to 3-4 feet tall on greenish-purple stems clad with sword-shaped green leaves. They thrive in a variety of conditions, ranging from wet pond margins to average garden soils.
