FREE: BUTTERFLY HOUSE AND BUTTERFLY

Awe thank you! The pennies in the jar, was kind of a accidental tradition. Lol. When my daughter was about 3, we had caught a few fireflies, and when she went to bed i released them, (so they would not die in the morning). Well before I went to sleep that night, I straightened up the house a little, and there were a few pennies laying on the dryer, so not thinking I just tossed them in the jar to get them out of the way. When she seen the pennies she was AMAZED that her fireflies tuned into pennies over night. Lol her little eyes went to bed seeing fireflies in a jar and woke up with pennies instead.. I couldn't break her heart n tell her I released them, lol so up until she was about 10 yr old, every summer night I had to replace the jar of fireflies with a handful of pennies! When she got a little older like 6 and 7, she started counting the fireflies and I had to make sure I had the exact number of pennies. And the older she got, the more fireflies she would catch, Haha! Many nights I made late night trips to the gas station to get change for a dollar -in all pennies.. Oh, I wish she was still that young!! :( time flies!

I bought my daughter, a few years ago, a "lifelike firefly" (lightning bug). Where we live, every year at the end of May the lightning bugs start lighting up our nightime yard, and since she was a toddler, we would go and collect as many as we could! we had this tradition to where the lightning bugs would turn into shiny pennies in the morning light (really I would let them free before morning and fill the jar with pennies lol) anyway I seen this mason jar at the store years ago, it had a lifelike lightning bug in it. It's so cute! It lights up and Flys around the mason jar when you touch or go near the jar, so it really is lifelike to a child! I bought it a few years ago for my now teenage daughter to always remember those warm spring nights we would spend chasing after those (surprising hard to catch!) Fireflies (lightning bugs). She still has it on her dresser.
When I seen your auction, I instantly thought of that! I didn't know they made anything like this! So neat!!

Loved the story reminds me of when i was growing up & my Aunt did the same thing to me! i was 14 when i finally found out the truth & that's only because we moved away. Brought tears to my eyes remembering it as i read the story, Wish i could find my Aunt to tell her thank you, lost touch with her after my dad passed away. he passed when i was 17 been looking for her ever sense. (now i'm 46)
