Description

The listing, Lot of 6+1: 14k Gold(3), Sterling Silver(3) RINGS (w/Sapphire, Diamond Chips, Amethyst, Celtic...)! has ended.

Small, gorgeous pottery pieces included. Bright blue cobalt glass has been melted in the center of the little dish/plate & ring holder. These were handmade, but are not signed on the bottom. A marble maker adds the colorful glass accent. If you want to know more, I can try to find out, from my dad -- the marble collector. But, I'll bet people are waiting for me to get to the rings.

SO, back to the business of the rings.

The (+1) ring is so tarnished that I can not see a stamp on it, and am not willing to say it is sterling. I do not know what it is made of, but it is a cute ROWING/CREW design, with an older-style oar that wraps around. Sapphire (September birthstone or for anyone who likes blue). That's the last picture.

The silver rings do need more cleaning and polishing than the pics show. The flash seemed to wipe out much of the tarnish.

Pic #2: The first ring does not have a totally white stone, but I imagine an EXTREMELY pale amethyst, or at least light lavendar color. Middle=celtic design. There is a nice red stone in the 3rd one, but I don't know what it is or if it is real (the stone). All three of these have stamps indicating that they are sterling.

Oh! I just noticed something about the H.S. ring (with the gold cross etched on top of the stone). It is 10K, NOT 14K!!! I don't know much about what this means. I think the lower the number, the less pure, but less likely to scratch? But, it could be the other way around. I know it is still valuable. The other two rings look like their stamps say 14k, though, and I KNOW the sapphire in the middle and amethyst on the right are real. Both of those rigns have a small diamond chip on each side of stone.

The gold class ring (besides the cross), has a music symble on one side, and "90" on the other. Reads "Colonie Central" around the stone. My first name IS engraved inside the band in script.

This post might appeal most to one who wants to melt it all down? Or...? : )

Aw. Well, I'm wishing everyone the best. You can always give a shout-out to whomever is going to win now (only IF it isn't you, of course), that you want that ring and would they put it back up for auction, etc. if they didn't want it after winning all of them. Just a thought. Thanks so much for being here. Going to fan you now!

do you have small fingers?

oh also what you can do is take a coin like a dime or penny and see if it fits in the center of the rings, then whoever is interested can get one of their own rings and put a dime or penny in and kind of estimate i that way. Hope I explained that so it makes sense x]

I DEFINITELY do not consider myself to have smaller than average fingers. In fact, I've often looked at them and thought them too wide. But, I took piano lessons for years and knew too many other piano players with much longer, skinnier fingers than mine. Oh well. I'm rambling. I'm going to try to find some coins now and see if I can take pics of the rings with the coins, like you were talking about.... I think I can add pictures? If not, I will describe.... GREAT suggestion. Everyone is being so helpful. Thank you.

OK google image rings size chart, click on one of the images that you will see then hold the ring up to it this will give you a better size average for the rings. this is how I check mine and it is always right on for me :) Love this auction pic #2 so want to know there sizes.

OK, according to size chart (re: 3 silver rings in the 2nd pic)...the first 2 are size 6.5 each. The last ring on the right is a 7. In pic 3, all of the three gold rings are size 7. Hope this helps. Thank you!

I would actually like to -- very much. However, I don't know if it's an option anymore. When I click on "update," there are only a couple of things it will let me do, and I can't find an option to shorten the length of time I previously set for the auction. I'm sorry. If I can figure it out, I'll do my best to shave off some time.... Thank you for the suggestion.

if it helps a dime will fit perfect in a ring thats 7 3/4-8, a penny fits in a 9-91/2 and a nickel fits perfectly in a size 12.
hope this helps

Yeah, I guess on the ring chart, the dime fits right ON the 7.5, to be more accurate, so there is no way it would fit in that sized ring? Regardless, there was no way I was getting that dime through the actual size 7 rings. This is fascinating info to add to the auction page, though. Thank you SO much!!! I think I should write it down for future reference, too. I've never heard this before. Thank you, again!

Those are great sizes for me! If you wanted a more exact measurement, you can google "ring size chart" and print off one of the results, lay the rings overtop the circle on the diagram they fit best, and that'll be a pretty good approximation of their size.

10k gold is less pure than 14k gold, as you figured. 14k gold is softer than 10k but not by much. Both will scuff over time and 10k will hold up to squishing a bit better than 14k. I sure wish the Gold/Amethyst ring was listed by itself, I probably won't have enough credits for all seven :( So if the winner doesn't want the gold amethyst ring, pleeease relist :D

That said, can't hurt to try... will you ship to Canada? USPS First Class would be at most $4, Priority (with delivery confirmation) at most $15. I'd be willing to go halfsies or pay it all if I win... just let me know as it would affect my bid :)

Thanks for listing this btw! I love seeing fine jewelry on Listia!

This is embarrassing, but I forget my own ring size. I am going to embark on some research to measure, and/or pick a couple people's brain's who have bought me rings. It might even be in the Hannoush Jewelers database, if I call them. I really feel not so bright right now. I CAN tell you that not all the rings are exactly the same size, but on average they are. I should have an answer for you sometime tomorrow, if not sooner. Thank you very much for your interest in the auction.

OK, I tried the dime thing, but I could not pass a dime through any of the rings. It almost exactly fit, but according to a ring chart I found online, a dime should be about a 7.5. Apparently, I don't have any 7.5-sized rings. Sorry everyone that I mentioned I might. They are almost all size SEVEN. The silver Celtic one and the silver ring with the very very light lavender stone (looks almost white in pic) are both 6.5. Now I remember wearing those two as pinky rings. The ring size chart I'm referring to is: "JewelBasket Ring Sizer Three Methods to Size Your Ring." Let me know if you want the url (if it's not easy to find right away). Also, that particular cart specifies that before you print it to make sure you uncheck all "scale to fit" options, to get an accurate read. Hope this helps. : )
