Description

The listing, 72 World Championship Wrestling (WCW) cards has ended.

I have 6 unopened packs of 1991 World Championship Wrestling (WCW) cards. WCW began as a regional promotion affiliated with the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), named Jim Crockett Promotions until November 1988, when Ted Turner and his Turner Broadcasting purchased the promotion, renaming it "World Championship Wrestling." In the 1990s it dominated pro wrestling's television ratings, giving World Wrestling Entertainment a real run for its money. I don't know who is exactly on these cards since all of the packs are unopened and, hence, the cards are mint. But I have seen single cards from this set like "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair (at the peak of his career) and "The Icon" Sting (just starting out) selling online for about $2 each. I also saw others like Arn Anderson, The Fabulous Freebirds, Sid Vicious and the Steiner Brothers. I did some research and the WCW roster in 1991 also included "The Total Package" Lex Luger, "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton, The Junkyard Dog, "Wildfire" Tommy Rich, Big Van Vader, "The Living Legend" Larry Zybysko, "Dirty" Dutch Mantell, "The Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff, Cactus Jack, Abdullah the Butcher,"The Diamond Studd" Scott Hall and "Stunning" Steve Austin. Each pack has 12 cards so you are getting 72 perfect cards. As always, no minimum credits needed to bid and free S&H.

Flair and Sting are still giving Vince McMahon fits with Jeff and Jerry Jarrett's TNA promotion, but does anyone else remember some of these other guys like Nikita Koloff? He wrestled at times with his "uncle" , "The Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff (managed by Capt. Lou Albano), who defeated legendary WWWF World Heavyweight Champion Bruno Sammartino in 1971.

I always try do research on the stuff I sell because I learn as much as I can share. According to http://www.wrestlingtradingcards.com the earliest pro wrestling cards date to 1888 by Allen and Ginter. The earliest stuff I recognized was a World Wrestling Federation set done by Topps in 1985. WCW only did one set in 1991 and this is it.
