Is it the battery or the site the battery goes into why it won't charge.?

I am really not sure what's wrong with it. The battery just won't stay fully charged. When it's connected to the charger, it looks like it's charging, but a message keeps popping up that says it can't be charged. The phone can be taken off the charger and it can still be used, but it dies quickly.

Yes. The battery needs to be replaced because it doesn't charge properly.
