The listing, Unique gently used necklaces has ended.
These 4 necklaces presented me with a Challenge. Separte or togeather, Take apart and sale as beads or leave togeather? So I leave it up to the winner to decide. All r are unique in thier own way. Make sure you look closely at the pictures. A necklace maddce of seeds(pic 1), One of Ribbon and beads (pic 2), One of beautiful shells of differet colors(pic 3) and one of Purlple stome or shell I can't tell which. (pic 4) Have fun and bid bid bid
Whenyou put them down and measure one side the purple ones are 15 inches the Ribbon one (by the way looked like beads but they aren't) is 13 inches the shells are 18 and the seed necklace is 15.
The first necklace with the brown 'beads' and pink background is actually an apple seed necklace. Native Americans in particular regions would wear them as protection and for another person to break them ... well.. Who knows. The apple seed necklace is indeed an American folklore and folkart piece of jewelry. I wouldn't separate them not because of any mayhap folklore stigma but, because it truly is a piece of American folklore art.
There have been vintage appleseed necklaces that have auctioned for nearly $1000 if one can prove it's lineage. Cheers ~LosAngeles
P.S. Have you ever tried to string an apple seed? Wink. It's quite hard to do. I would recommend leaving the necklace in tact. Someone went to great skills to complete the necklace pattern using the right seeds. Great action. ~LosAngeles
