Questions & Comments
Wow, if I owned this, I'd probably just pawn it to tell the truth. lol. You're sure to get TONS and TONS of bids for this.
Yeah....imagine my surprise when I found out it was real. I bought a ziplock bag full of gemstones at an estate sale..the bag contained loose opals..pearls..topaz and other stones........and a 3.50 carat emerald..and a 6.75 carat ruby. I was gonna have it set..but I have way too much jewelry as it is.
Ooohhhh I LOVE estate sales and yardsales....treasures can indeed be found. My mom bought a .5 carat Princess cut diamond ring in 14 kt gold at a yard sale.....paid $1 for it......so I ALWAYS look....very closely..because you just never know. Hey..the other day I went to Goodwill..and bought a genuine ALABASTER trinket jar...GORGEOUS yellow alabaster..for $3 .....made for LEFTON...so when I go to yardsales..I'm like Sherlock Holmes..with my magnifying glass..lolol
Well....I'm not a gemstone appraiser..and those were not my words..but rather the words of the appraiser..I'm just stating the specific words used by the company..and I suppose it means just that.......to replace this stone..if could cost as much as $1800...depending on certain factors. What are those factors? I don't know. All I know is it's pretty..and it has value. If I was certain I could do it without destroying it..I would have a small hole drilled through the top..and run a 24k gold snake chain through it. But i won't dare..as rubies and emeralds can be quite vulnerable..and must be cared for gently.
