I enjoy when you first aquire an item to research it's history of it. Like who, where, when, possibly the person who owned it before. ( if an estate item). It's being a history buff...through one item at a time.

I agree 100%!! Sometimes I keep items that are random and wouldn't mean a thing to anyone else because of the personal history surrounding the item. Such as the original or precious owner, or where it came from, and if it has historical importance. I'm a Sociologist so it's in my nature being drawn to the human link an item has had. Around here, a lot of the estate auctioneers won't tell you about the seller or where an item came from, so it's easier to research stamps, marks, engravings and inscriptions, which I love doing. I own a used bookstore, so I read more inscriptions than books most weeks! Lol

That's what I'm hoping for. It would make a beautiful pendant if someone had the ambition to create it! Thanks so much and good luck!

Thank you..i also love learning about antiques I purchase. You heard the quote-" only if the item it could talk, and the story it would tell!"

I am an antiques dealer and lover and I often wish they could tell their story! It would be better than any book I could read!!

Unfortunately, there is only one. I bought it at an estate auction and there it only had one, so I wish I could say I'll dig through my stuff and find the other, however, I only have the one without a prayer of finding the other. Lol. I'm sorry. :(

I went to an auction a few years back I was lucky to of found a box that was prior Civil War. Slavery items such as an 1846 newspaper written from the FREE SLAVES of Cornhill . Also, many other very old books.

That's incredible! I grew up around an area that was heavily tunneled for the Underground Railroad, so that's incredible!!
