The listing, LEAPSTER! Original Leapster w/ rechargeable battery and 9 games! has ended.

This is the original leapster so it of course doesnt have quite all the bells and whistles but its still an amazing set. Its been used by 2 boys so it has some wear to it and the plastic screen cover attatchment is long gone, but otherwise it is perfect for your child, and christmas is coming! I know with the economy this Christmas could be a rough one for some, but think of being able to surprise your little one with this great little set with so much learning opportunity!

The first picture shows the whole set together.

Picture number 2 is just to show you that the leapster does indeed work and that the blank game is in fact Finding Nemo. :)

Picture Number 3 shows the fantastic rechargable battery that would have made this game useless if we didnt have. As great as it is for road trips or long rainy Saturdays, 4 AA batteries a time gets crazy expensive! This makes the game "just like a ds" as my son said when he got it where you can charge it (with the included charger) and then take it and play. I have never counted how many hours it works, but its a good amount of time.

The last picture is the 9 games the leapster comes with... and these games are not cheap and I believe most of them if not all are compatible with the leapster 2 if you decide your child loves this one so much you need to upgrade. There is one game that the sticker has come off, its Finding Nemo, so we labeled it with sharpie. The game works no problems.

-Cars, Finding Nemo, Kindergarten, and Thomas are the oldest games that came with it when we got it. The other 5 we have added within the past year 1/2 (most for Christmas last year and he got his DS for his birthday so he basically stopped playing last winter!)

My best guess would be 4-7. I think Leapster officially says 3-8, but I would think an older or advanced 3 year old and an 8 year old would have fun with it only until they saw something else. My son is almost 7 and while he still enjoys the games and the system and would play it if thats all there was, he'd much rather play DS or Wii now. So I think ages 4-7 are the best age range, and thats I think the age range for the games we have as well. Hope that helps.

The plus signs are just saying you like what that person said. It does not give them a credit.
Neat auction. My daughter loves her leapster and she's 8 1/2. The games are too easy for her...but it's good for long road trips. When little sis (3yr old) gets a bit bigger we'll pass it on.
