Nice auction. I use the hot water tip for better germination too...

Hi Diana! Ty for the complement. For those that haven't tried it-I highly recommend they do. When seeds are soaked in HOT tap water it cracks their hard shells to allow water intake to the embryo, inducing the seed to grow out of its season. You can also use this system before cold stratifying seeds as well :)

you mean like apple seeds after 3 months in the refrigerator?
Nov 28th, 2015 at 8:30:10 AM PST by
Original
Yes, Diana, but you would Hot water treat your apple seeds 'before' putting them in the fridge. What I do is hot soak 12-24 hrs (depending on seed size) then add a little moistened peat w/ some sand into a baggy and seal w/ziplock. Do not squeeze the air out but instead take a pen and pop a few holes in the top of the bag. Then place in the lettuce compartment until time to plant. Check the bag once a week to make sure the soil is still moist (never wet)-mist when needed.

do you process and eat or take? I just finished reading a huge report on it and am very interested however, I will have to wait until I see your auction another time as I will need more credits. I live in apartments so am not real sure about the growing do you have any clue to a company that would be a good one to purchase processed from? Sorry about the questions I am very interested. Thank you for sharing

Don't let an apartment stop you :) If you have a nice bright window grow a couple of plants for the leaves (same nutrition as the seeds) which are abundant even when the plant is small. I call them 'window snacks'-just pluck and eat as you like. But I will look up an organic grower I've also used for making dried leaf tea and send it along to ya this evening.
