When her father mysterious goes missing, divorcee Laura lecrois is forced to return home to Louisiana wetlands for the first time in 20 years and nothing is as she remembers it. There she is reunited with her ex boyfriend Tim Richard who is now the sheriff and ex husband dr. Charles Leblanc who is suspiciously buying up the towns surrounding marshes in an effort to save her fathers property from her land hungry ex Laura decides to work the dying family business and takes a couple out for a sunset boat tour. But the trip takes a disturbing turn when encounter a terrifying creature unlike any they've seen before a 50 foot long lightning fast sharp toothed underwater reptile thought to be extinct. Now with a prehistoric predator on the loose sheriff Richards had growing list of missing people but when Laura realizes Charles might be responsible for the genetically englneered monster they may have even bigger problems on there hands
