What I have here for some lucky Listia member is one Dell laptop--it does have a problem though ---I was using this computer regularly every day up until a week or so ago when it installed some updates through windows update and then asked me to restart the computer to complete them. You see the screen in the pics with the Dell logo? Well that is where it went and is stuck there ever since the updates. I do no have the time or money to take it to a shop to try to get it fixed but am sure some smart person out there might be able to get it unstuck and have themselves a very good and pretty fast laptop.

This comes with the original power cord and adapter and the battery is good and the condition of the laptop us very very good! It also comes with two swappable drives as you can see, one floppy and one CDRW-DVD Rom so you can use either one whenever you need it. This comes with Windows XP Professional service pack 3 installed on it and before it got stuck this laptop was excellent in so far as speed and usage online or off.
I will list some more specs below in the comments section.

This is being sold AS IS since I am not sure what you will need to do with this to get it unstuck from where it is. I am getting myself a new laptop shortly and already have an excellent desktop so I simply just don't feel like trying to fix it-- let the winner take care of that.

wow....hate to be the spoiler for anyone bidding but, have you considered keeping it. this problem only a clean install of window....and let me guess (you were running vista!) mine did the same *****....contact Dell and unlist the item.......

Yes I have but like I said it will take me having to take this to a shop and pay them to fix this. No it was not vista actually but was windows xp pro with service pack 3 ebing run on this.

can you go into the setup???....because if so, you can set the BIOS to boot from cd....and it wouldn't even have to go through any of the startup process

It is ashamed that you are giving this away like this especially if you really want to keep it. You do not need to be able to get to any programs on the laptop other than the cd drive. If you can access the cd drive and have a clean copy of the OS disc handy all you have to do is while it is turned on insert the disc into the drive then turn the pc off and reboot it while the disc is in the cd rom and it will automatically install a clean version of your OS and unstick it. If you want to take it off of listia and give it a try, I would be okay with it, but I will be watching this one. Thank you for listing it, and if you do not change your mind about it and keep it posted I hope you have another one to use and thank you again.

Look I have tried all the obvious ways to get this to work and since none of them worked I assume this will take someone who knows more than me to fix it I am tired of people telling me what to do with this if you want to get it and try to fix then bid otherwise everyone please stop telling me what to do with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I won't suggest ways to fix it 'cause I don't know much about PC's., except how to log on to LIstia. lol I do however have a friends who's pretty good at this kinda thing so I'm gonna watch and bid when I can. Best of luck to you.

Okay some more specs on this----
120 GB hard drive
1GB DDR2 RAM----use get it now and I can throw in another stick with 2GB on it!!
Pentium DUO Processor at 1.66GHZ
Built in WiFi works like a charm too!
4 USB ports--two on the back and two on the side.
15inch screen no scratches on the screen or bad pixels---the exterior and interior and keyboard area in excellent condition as well.

Yes that would prob do it but thing is where this is stuck is before the computer gets to the point at which it will read a cd to try to install a clean op system. It will take a little more than just popping a cd in to reinstall the system if that would do it I could have fixed this easily myself.

Good godfrey. What is with all the questions. The man said it has a problem, he told you what the problem is. He even told you he is getting a new laptop. WOW - Sure are a lot of Laptop Technicians out there that are just too eager to help with advice AND suggest you take the listing down! Hmmmm, bet you've gotten a bunch of PMs and email, lol. Hang in there - even the annoying comments are just proof you've got a great item and listing. Being Dell Certified myself, I can say this, the Latitude 6xx series of laptops are some of the best built and 'the' best-selling laptops ever! I just recently joined to hopefully swap a ton of laptop/desktop/server hardware and had I the credits to use towards the GIN price at this time, it would be gone! Nice Stuff...
