This is not a tree. It is similar to a LARGE squash plant. But the "fruits" are gourds. When you plant it, plant it newar a trellis, a fence orsome kind of support. The bush will grow and weave itself in and around the support. Then it will start with growing flowers, then you sill start seeing little knubbins of the gourds. Continue to let it grow. When the leaves and vines have started dying away in the fall, pick the gourds and let them dry in a cool place out of the weather. Come spring time, you can soak these and rub the skin off it and inside you will find the luffa sponge.
