Horizontal pair, the purple attached stamps dated 1946:
Honoring Those Who Have Served 3 cent
US Scott #940 Honorable Discharge
Honors all those who have served in World War II and pictures the Honorable Discharge Emblem.

(I will be making detailed information cards for both of these pairs of stamps soon and put up for auction.)

The five stars surrounding the emblem honor those who died in each of the five services – Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Marines, and Merchant Marines.
