I completely agree with what TheTheoriza said!

I am a licensed nurse and am professional body piercer and I am very concerned that these items, if used by an untrained person, can cause infection and disease transmission. The average person does not have access to the machine (an autoclave) that sterilizes tools and jewelry before and after each use.

It is also no secret that many kids under the age of 18 start accounts on listia and it is ILLEGAL to perform body piercings on a minor without the consent of the parent in many states.

To be a licensed nurse and a licensed body piercer I had to go through many many hours of schooling, clinicals, and apprenticeships and if you do not have that training under your belt you should not be performing these piercings. I have had to cut out and treat infections in many piercings that were not done properly. You have no idea how bad a piercing can go wrong until you have had to literally cut somone open to remove jewelry that was the wrong size and the skin completely grew over it and became infected...

The training and apprenticeship that I went through to be an excellent, reputable body piercer, who, like Lgisinger, has had to fix all sorts of piercing "mishaps" to put it mildly. The piercers involved ranged from teenage kids in their parent's basement to other piercers who sometimes did their job properly and sometimes didn't. As a piercer I was trained to follow every single guideline of the Association of Professional Piercers and to keep myself updated and informed on anything that I needed to change in my profession to do the service as I was trained.

If you are a body piercer in a professional sense (which your facebook photo clearly shows an area where you are doing piercings and/or tattoos that I see SO many health code violations in) you would understand the concept that since you are apparently certified as a professional that means you have a responsibility to ensure that ANY piercings that you do (or are illegally and negligently selling non-sterile equipment for) are performed according to the APP professional standards.

Just because "other people" are offering equipment and items that in most hands would be a huge hazard when "guessing" how to use it or "experimenting" with using it rather than seeking a certified, reputable professional like you would for any other surgical procedure doesn't make it right one bit.

I know from being a professional body piercer for several years that I could ONLY order equipment for piercing, needles, tools, tapers, etc., from catalogs that had the highest standards and quality as well as the explicit legality and responsibility to only use the items within the proper confines or the specific Tattoo/Body Piercing shop that I was certified to do so in.

I am not being rude. I am spreading awareness.

Okay.. I see people putting up underwear that are nwot.. They "tried them on" but never wore them... That is way more dangerous for disease and infection then your product is when used properly. I don't see any problem with the lot that you have offered here. It is a great lot that my LICENSED PIERCER husband would love to have. You are not responsible for the people that bid. They are responsible for themselves... Great auction and I will be bidding for my LICENSED husband. He is always looking for more to work with!! Thanks a million for this great auction!! :)

Wow...you might want to give a bit of information on cross contamination since you are giving the tools that have the strong potential to spread blood born diseases. I have been piercing for upward of 15 years and did my apprenticeship under a licensed tattoo artist/piercer for 2 years on top of the BBP classes and CC certifications. Anybody with experience knows the dangers of jamming sewing needles through tissue, as the comment above states. Piercings done in a controlled environment get infected from time to time, but mostly at the hands of the subject not cleaning properly. I have to ask...how do you like the disposable forceps? I never could get used to them. They seem too flexible in my hands. But I guess I came from the era of all steel all the time. I went to the Gauntlet school in NY years ago.

You know, for the professional piercers, I've had all my piercings done by "professional, trained" piercers and I still had them get infected. When I was growing up we just used a regular sewing needle to pierce our ears and I had much more success with that. I personally really like your auctions and I agree, It's Spectacular! Just for the body jewelry alone you deserve mega bids.

Wow, amazing auction! And I especially love that you include safety instructions with the kit (as you say in an above comment). I'm not a licensed piercing artist, but then I only pierce myself and I know how to do it safely. I believe many others who would bid on this are in the same category, and if they're not yet, maybe that's why they're getting the kit; they want to learn.

I worked as a professional body piercer for 3 years and had to go through apprenticeships, training, receive certifications for a number of reasons directly related to becoming a body piercer but also to ensure that I would be using my certification in a professional, safe, approved setting -- which was a reputable tattoo shop with body piercing available as well that also had to pass certain health code regulations and expectations on periodically.

I'm not sure on specific state regulations but I know that in Wisconsin, where I live and was certified as a body piercer, the basic idea of this auction is absolutely wrong and irresponsible.

Also -- piercing guns are SO dangerous the professional piercing community has been trying to make them illegal for quite some time now. There is absolutely no way to properly sterilize them or pierce the body with them in a way that gives anyone's body the chance it deserves to heal from a piercing properly.

All of these items would need to go through an autoclave upon receiving them EVEN IF you put them through an autoclave and left them in sterilization packaging before shipment to prevent cross contamination which leads to disease, infection, and possible loss of parts of the body that are affected by such among other concerns.

Autoclaves are expensive and need to be used consistently and with proper knowledge and know how. There is no way to ensure that these items are going to be used in a sterile environment let alone in a way that would ensure that a piercing is done properly as far as placement and correct jewelry either.

With this being said, I think this auction is inappropriate in many ways and has a high potential to put someone in a lot of unnecessary danger, if not multiple people.

I respect your concern however my reply to you is, do you leave insulting comments on other auctions of the same contents, with sites such as ebay & other online resources where these items are sold? True, there are children that make accounts on here, however it is their parents responsiblity to monitor their childs online use, not mine. Your right about ppl not being responsible when doing piercings. I have heard about many children piercing with safety pins & many adults re-using piercing needles. So even if an adult is not experienced at doing piercings, at least they have an opprotuinity to use a new needle. ALL of these needles are NEW & UN-OPENED....As far as the tools go, The Forceps ARE ALSO NEW! What the winner does with these items is their responsibility to use properly. I only use disposable tools, so I dont have a need for these. I will print & send out universal precaution info with all of the like items I share on this site. I find your comment to be very rude & insulting to me, But also respect your concern. So I will leave your comment viewable for members of interest in this auction so that they can be aware of the dangers you are talking about.

For those of you that are worried about cross contamination and other such possible afflictions that can happen with these kinds of tools, you need to understand one thing. this is an auction site for people to bid on items they like, want, need or whatever, the people who bid on these such items need to be the responsable ones and only bid if they are the professional ones to use these tools,we as listers do not see who bids on our auctions and are assuming as like any store that sells this same equipment that the buyer/bidder is licensed and certified in using the tools. we can not regulate such things because when we start to censor our auction for only those items that you do not need some sort of schooling,licensing,training,etc.. to use then im sorry but listia would have no auctions what so ever. this falls into the catagory as buyer/bidder beware and yes a disclaimer of some sort should be placed in the listing to cover the sellers liability for anything that may come of this,we are listing our items for other people,professionals,etc.. for them to use their own judgements and all risks taken are on them and not the seller/lister because like i said it is no different then say walmart selling self piercers? do you go into walmart and tell them that they are selling something that has the potential to spread diseases if used inaproprietly? i think not.so as again i say it is a buyer beware the people who bid on items like this are assuming all responsability we are assuming the people who are bidding on such things are of the licensed nature.we cannot look through our computers and see their licensing. good listing i feel its no different then the tatto auctions.

NOTE TO BIDDERS:

As per Listia's rules - This is an ages 18+ site! These items are intended for persons of legal smoking age. Seller is not responsible for Listia users who violate the rules by having an account, while under age.

I supose I could've took the time to go through the rules again, but at least I was able to see who my auctions offended so that I could block them...lol...I think we've got just about all of them now....What I think is funny is that there was one that had the same sort of auction going and she felt she was almighty too....talking about sterilization, and how my NEW items were not in a sealed sterile package....WOW! Now that you mention it I'm not sure I remember reading that anywhere, except for in the comments. However, I could not justify letting someone under the age of 18 purchase this item. I appreciate you letting me know & most of all that you are listening to ur parents (as they do know best). I am sorry but because of your age & the type of items I list on here I am going to block you from bidding on my auctions. You should still be allowed to view them but you will not be allowed to bid. If there are other items that to not carry such restrictions on my auctions then you are welcome to have your parent email me about the item & I will then allow you to bid on those items. this is for your protection as well as mine. You seem like 1 cool kid (sorry if ur an older kid, I know how much teens hate to hear that). Glad you do listen to ur parents tho ;)

Good God people get a grip.People need to accept their own accountability and be responsible. if you don't want to bid on this move on and leave this person alone to her auction. I am glad all of you have your certificates and blah blah blah.........personally I think the only reason you have a gripe is that you're afraid someone will buy it and take the business away from you. They list the same stuff on other sites and you would never get away with posting stuff like this on their stuff......for a matter of fact I believe that most sites don't even allow you to comment where others can see it. If a child buys this than his/her parents are responsible for not making sure they are on appropriate sites. If Listia allowed sex toys (which some do slip by) would you go on their auctions and give them lectures on HIV? People need to take more responsiblity for themselves............you don't want this auction.........move on........i am sure there is a ty beanie coming up in the next few minutes for you to bid on. I wish i had enough credits to bid on this.........I have absolutely no use for it but I would break it up and list dozens of auctions just to irritate the moral minority that we have here. Sorry for the rant on your auction............but this is why Listia isn't always the most fun........and it irritates. I wish you the best on your auction.........i hope you get tons of credits and I hope it goes to one of the whiney's (that are represented here) clients.

First I want to say AWESOME AUCTION Im already a fan. As far as age YES you have to be 18 to have an account. Don't let haters get u down! When I was a teen I couldn't walk into a piercing shop and get pierced so I did all my piercings my self. I did darn good too. When I turned 18 I went and got a professional piercing lol. That was a bad experience. I should of stuck with doing it myself. As far as people getting hurt well it's just like playing with fire you get burned. I see many other listings on here that can do more harm to many at a time than this can do. Kids are going to get a hold of what they want regardless where it comes from. You are following all the rules and some. Even going out of your way to put the extra safety info on here. Ive seen other auctions like this that did not have the info with it! As far as these haters maybe you should unblock them for this auction just so they can see the back up you got! RUDENESS is the WEAK Person's imitation of strength. Don't let a few people ruin it for you, better yet Im sure if you listed more you would get even more support!!! :) This is a great auction and if people be irresponsible thats on them. If they dont read the rules and get hurt that's on them! You got my vote 110%! This is actually the better piercing one I seen because of all your extra professional info your give with it! OH MAN I really want to win this! :) GooooD Luck on all your future auctions! I'll be watching out for them! Im glad to see there are some good people left on here as well! Ive been dealing with the same bs from many people. It can be discouraging! :)
