Actually If a deck really calls to you, then you can buy them. You could be gifted lots of cards and they may never fit you. It just depends on the deck and person really. Sorry felt the need to comment on that :) Lots are misinformed on that. My friend has been practicing over 30 years and buys lots for herself, and received some as gifts. I think she is addicted to them lol. If a deck calls you Its yours.

I so AGREE!!! I have several decks myself but I always revert back to my ONE very old, very tattered deck. Some call it the "mean deck" LOL It's not mean. It just tells you straight up.

I absolutely AGREE that cards given are far more powerful than those U just go out and purchase. IT it goes back to what leigh said; sometimes cards just call to you.

Man oh Man, I really wish LISTIA had a user or member's forum like ebay so us noobies could discuss questions with the Veterans here. I have sooo much stuff I'd love to put up but I'm trying like everything to keep my shipping free and that's impossible to do with the larger lots or heavier or odd shaped items :( I just don't think that many people want or can afford shipping cuz that's what makes LISTIA SO FUN!! Oh well. I'll learn as I go. LOL

LemonAngel, you are correct in some aspects. I had a lovely teacher- I called her my Guru who told me the same so I have always tried to live by that rule because she was so wise however if you refer back to what leighswiccanboutique said, I have found this to be far more truth than anything! I have had several decks over the years. Some were given to me and 2 decks I purchased. Funny that 1 deck I had given to me I still have but stopped using years ago. I won't give them up bc I like them but the other deck, my "mean" deck LOL... I LOVE & will not part with at all. Funny story about that deck, I was working at Tarot line & was working in the office one day. Saw a deck sitting on the desk & did not know U should never touch another's deck without permission. That deck SCREAMED at me! I couldn't contain myself. I started looking at them when another walked in and told me "Abby will kill you 4 touching her deck!" I felt horrible. I didn't know. Sure enough the next day she was ranting around the office asking who touched her deck?? I fessed up, apologized and she told me where I could buy my own deck exactly like those. I did and that is now the deck I won't part with. Now having gone through all that and given the fact that these are FREE with FREE shipping, You are not actually buying the deck, so bid if they call to you and refrain if they don't. Blessed be.

I bought a book from amazon . com "learning the tarot" thought it had cards with it just starting out, this one is more like what i thought i was getting, thinking about returning it. I also like the idea of if they are given to you they have more meaning, like passing down knowledge.

I have done that before. Not with cards but with clothes- found them cheaper and better somewhere else. Shhhh... don't tell anyone.

Been a tarot collector for a long time now, have over 100 decks, but always interested to see others! Even if you're not into the spiritual aspects of tarot (though I am), they are interesting as different artistic representations of universal archetypes. I think there's a lot about them that a serious art collector or others could appreciate. And there are definitely decks that speak to each of us differently; it's a very personal process. :) Thanks for putting this one up! Interesting edition!

Thank YOU lotusmira! I don't have anywhere near 100 decks but I have several & so agree that even if you're not into the spiritual aspect (as I too, am) you really have to appreciate the artistic perspectives!!! I've always known in my heart that everyone has psychic abilities & certain arts speak to them. I just find it sad that so many people shut off the right side of the brain in lieu of the left side. Scientist say that when we die there is about 97% of our brain totally unused. I think many of us are able to tap into some of that unused portion if we just stop believing those who say "It's not real. You don't have to be a card reader or psychic to appreciate art.

My Mother was the most spiritual person I ever knew but she always believed that Tarot was wrong. I never discussed it with her bc I am not out to change anyone's beliefs. I will tell you this from my heart though, I was blessed to have been able to spend the last 11 and a half months of her life with her. The Doctors all said she was a vegetable. IK they were wrong. I just had to find a new way of communicating with her. They said she couldn't track with her eyes. I knew she was just hard of seeing. They said she couldn't hear. I knew she just didn't have her hearing aid. I spoke loudly to her & got very close to her face. She taught ME! I asked her to blink for yes and no. Not only did she let me know in no uncertain terms that she HAD tapped into another part of the brain and let me know what she wanted but also taught me about spirit. I just had to learn to speak to her in yes or no questions. She did learn, not only to track with her eyes but to move her whole neck & head. Even the nurses had to admit that she knew who I was & had feelings. I learned a lot through Tarot but Tarot was just the beginning of my journey. I smile now to remember how she would show me and my sister that she wanted the window open. We all have it in us!
