Are these wet or dry flys?

a freind of mine tied these for me when I was doing alot of trout fishing in calif I have caught some nice size browns off of them Im not sure what you mean by wet or dry when I used them they kinda just floated on top of the water this group of flies was the last set he did before he passed away they are very detailed and he did nice work on them thanks for bigging
