WORK IN A COLD ENVIRONMENT? LEGS ALWAYS COLD? I was given these to wear while I was having carpal tunnel surgery a couple yrs ago. I DID NOT WEAR THEM!! So you know. WHY? You ask? Because I am a woman with some thick thighs, and these type hose do not work well with thick legs. But they shoved them in my take home bag since they gave them to me. They are stretchy. They are meant to keep your legs warm. So if you are working where you have to bundle up, these would be great for wearing under your pants. They may even help with circulation. NOW IF YOU WANT YOUR TOES WARM, better wear an extra pear of socks. They are open toe. In pic 4 you can kinda see the heel and I think also by the ball of the foot it is a little reinforced.
