North American Aviation P-51D named Glamorous Gal, I took this photo on 06/17/2000 at the Deke Slayton Airfest in La Crosse, Wisconsin at La Crosse Regional Airport. I have been going to airshows since 1978. Over the last 28 years, I have been a volunteer at the Minnesota Air National Guard Museum. The museum has had in existence for 31 years. I am one of four volunteers who have been around the museum for more than 25 years. I was never active duty military due to my asthma. I have studied aviation and military history for the last 40 + years since I was a freshman at a military high school U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps. 99.9% of our volunteers are retired military and they consider me to be a walking encyclopedia.
