The listing, The Dragon in the Land of Snows by Tsering ShakyaHard Cover/Dustjacker has ended.

Up for auction is this controversial hardcover book..
The Dragon in the Land of Snows.

This scholarly history of modern Tibet chronicles the pain and suffering that followed the Chinese invasion in 1950, and the efforts of the Chinese government to assert (or reassert) its control over the region. Shakya fled Tibet in 1967. He chastises the West for failing to take a strong stance on human rights, and criticizes failed initiatives by the followers of the Dalai Lama.

"DRAGON IN THE LAND OF SHADOWS will undoubtedly take its place as the indispensable account of modern Tibetan history...Shakya informs it with a cool and rigorous historical mind, with which he cuts through the thickets of polemic on both sides."

"The author presents new information of scalding sensitivity which will anger not only Beijing and many of the Dalai Lama's networks in the West, but diplomatic circles in London and Washington."

This book is in excellent unread condition and would make a nice addition to anyone's library who is interested in this subject.

Yup. Everyone was starting to have cabin fever with all the snow. We went four years with hardly any snow, then Mother Nature...went...poof....I'm still here and you need to respect me, and respect her I do! Now, she's blowin" the warm winds our way and I hope that one day the Easth and man will work as one again.

Well we had the hottets number of days in a row consequetively in the past 50 years last year. That means it was above 115 for over 45 days straight, Normally it goes 115, 117, 110 then the cycle continues, however last year the sonoran showed its teeth yet some still wonder if global warming is an isue. People seem to so easily forget how our different climates are really one big climate!!
