Three Salt MInerals From Searles Lake Trona, California USA
In this collection you will recieve 1 Hanksite Barrel Crystal, (from the mud) 1 Hanksite hexagonal crystal (from the blow hole) and 1 pink Halite crystal. (from the brine pools)
These are small crystals measuring from almost 1 inch to 1 1/2 inch.
Hanksite is a Salt mineral found in only 4 places in the world. Searles Lake is where it was discovered by Mr Hanks.
Once a year for only two and a half hours the lake is open to the public to dig through the mud to find these rare crystals.
This crystal was dug up on 10-10-15. Most Hanksite has mud inclusions, as a bit of mud is usually the base that the crystal has formed around.
Hanksite opens the third Chakra, is great for meditation and healing, and will make a wonderfull new addition to any rock and mineral collection.
Pink Halite (salt) Crystal Cubes. Gathered from the brine pools of Searls Lake in Trona, Ca. on 10-11-15.
These pink salt crystals are formed as the highly saline brine of Searles Lake evaporates in the intense heat of Trona.
The Halite is colored pink by the organisim Halo Bacterium that lives in the brine pools of Searles Lake.
As this is an evaporitive salt mineral, it will be damaged by moisture, disolve in water, and is very fragile.
To clean these crystals please use mineral oil.
