Description

The listing, Don't Get Uptight! Get These Tights! Apostrophe's Paisley Printed Sparkle Tights. Sz. ML has ended.

I wear pantyhose, tights, even knee-highs maybe once every couple years.
I don't know how to describe "fashion." It's just not my thing. So, I snatched some text from an online stocking distributor:
"For an incredibly cool look, and to break the monotony of an all-black outfit, try jazzing it up with a pair of artistically patterned tights or stockings.
For ultra-chic results, avoid multi-colored floral tights and go for paisleys, geometric shapes, rings or stripes. To achieve an extra-dressy look, opt for something with a bit of sparkle or sheen."
M/L
H: 5'5"-5'11"
W: 130-175 lbs.

Why there is a fascination with trademarks and brands,
I will never know......
any brand for that matter.
I just don't get it.
So, there you have it.....
My take on fashion
(as opposed to "style").

I, personally, will not, advertise for designers,
sports eq. manufacturers, or even chocolatiers,
by walking around with their logo on-purpose
and on my own dime, when they should be paying me to advertise for THEM!.
Right now I am wearing a "Big Dog" hoodie,
but I got it at a garage sale,
so I did not feed the corporate vacuum that
sucks our economy dry and pumps into the coffers
of CEO's , as well as Chinese and Saudi congolmerates.

Don't ja just love Lista for the freedom to editorialize?

I got these tights from someone who posted on craigslist with some other things that I really wanted to use.

Help out Ol' Momma Earth and join me
by making a statement of eco-style. . .
keeping it 'cycling.

Thanks for stopping by, looking, reading and considering

We do have a lot of fun around here, us po' folk. Yes, I suppose I don't begrudge those who can afford to buy them new..... middle -class and upper middle class. I do have issues with people who have enough income and assets for their next six lifetimes, and DO NOT PAY TAXES. As for me, I'm leaving my grandchildren stuff I win on Listia.
You may appreciate the antique bottle I just listed, if not only the description.
Thanks for your comment..... It’s more fun to get the well thought-out ones than the monosyllabic ones.

Cute? The item or what I had to say in the description? I'm taking a rather opinion-driven poll. I am looking to see how many folks read the descriptions, or simply look at the photos. These statistics could be very helpful for Listians who choose not to or are unable to post pictures along with their items up for bid. What do you think?

Smiling is good, Healthy for the smiler and for Mankind as a whole. I think it nurtures the universe as it releases that healthy and joyful energy which impregnates everything, bringing forth the newness of Life...... as for frowns, grimaces and scowls.. well, as they say, "You do the math."

I like your honesty, but I think there was a lot of uneeded information in the description. It's space for you to provide details about the item up for bids, not yourself. But other than that no matter where you were to post your opinion about "fashion" I still agree with you.

I appreciate your feelings and your perseptive, Bee2.
The way I look at it is this:
I scoured the net for information and images on this item and posted all I could find.
There was still room and there are a couple reasons why I listed the way I did.
1. As people seem to nearly always want to know why an item is being given away, I thought I would save my fellow Listians the time and trouble of asking (and waiting for a reply) by offering that information up front.
2. As far as my attitude toward Listia goes and as I often have commented, it is vital that one just, "... have fun with it."

Some take it way too seriously and, in the end, those folks simply get frustrated, angry and/or hurt, and even spiteful, when transactions don't go as anticipated.
To me, that's not what it's all about. There is way too much conflict, on a grander scale, in the world, without taking a pastime too personally.
It's like your kids. You want them to be perfect and behave, but sometimes (especially as toddlers and teenagers) they disappoint you...... when they are learning, developing and just being human. You can't take it too personally. It's really not that they are out to get you.... they are just being themselves.
Listia is the same. Its heart and soul is made up of humans..... sharing with one another, often in a less than perfect, or simply a "non-preferred" way.
I hope that explains where I am, sort of, coming from.... but I've been up all night and had too many cups of coffee. So take what you will and leave the rest, Okay?

I think they will look hip, cool, flashy, fancy, and quite stunning on whoever decides to bid and wins. Thanks for your comment.

They are actually kind of a Purple "wine" color, with the designs mostly a lavendar... and the "sparkles" throughout are silver. Does that work for you?

Thanks for your comment and the validation.... I can always use it,
but can't we all?

I went back & read the description. Good work! I share some your ideas also.
When I described Listia to my friends I said it was like Craigslist but without the d-a-n-g-e-r .oooooooh (halloween noises) though I've only had good encounters w/Craigslist. BUT they DON'T give out badges for flagging. Whatup with that! oop, I may have said too much. I just rather freecycle it than goodwill it.
Plus ultimately, I love the idea of sending out an envelope to someone anywhere that doesn't have a BILLor a foreclosure notice inside. And they love it, too.
About putting too much in the description/personal stuff? all I can say is that some people should 'prolly'never look at my auctions .lol. I was invited to compete making passive-aggressive auction listings...
best wishes. M.

Oh my gosh, Maria.... you made me laugh out loud..... seriously. And I'm wondering what the neighbors think of it at 4 a.m. This is exactly the way I feel about Listia, I know that there are plenty of other things I could be doing for a hobby, but GIFTS when it's not even Birthday, Christmas, Mothers Day, Kawaaza or Chanukah! Wowsers! You can't beat that with a stick.....
well, you could, but maybe the neighbors would stare, the kids would give disapproving looks, and the postal carriers might get a little bent after all their hard work to deliver it.
Take care, Sweetie, keep warm and well, even if it means snuggling up with one of those little booger-people under a fluffy comforter.
I am going back to bed. Good night... or morning, whatever time it is, was or will be.

Stop it now! How can I get back to sleep when you've got me holding my guts in from laughing so hard? .. Oh, the tears are coming down my cheeks now!
Trying to stuff my bulbous flesh into tights or pantyhose reminds me alot of when I make yeast bread and let it rise too long. It urps over and cascades over the side of the bowl. Not unlike in the movie, "The Blob." Oh, Man, I do have to get some sleep. Hopefully it won't be full of dreams about monstetous globs of yeast dough rolling down the avenue and absorbing neighbors..... innocent babes in arms and grandmothers.....
then again......what if it was cinnamon-raisin?

love the tights, love the rant. I agree! I'm just glad there are ppl out there rich enough to buy new so our economy keeps moving the money around. At any rate, I buy used, recycled, etc etc... but I'm far below the poverty line and slipping farther each day as more people pile on under that line. Good luck with the auction and wish me luck in winning these stunning tights!
