I ran out of credits so I wasn't able to get it anymore but my boyfriend is going to try. Him and I love plants and I would absolutely love to add these to my plants. This will be my first exotic plant if we get them :)

Oh, I see, that's the other thing we girls do, always coming up short on a little shopping spree ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Anyhoo...how fun to grow your first exotic beauty...and all of the Pipe Vine family fits that bill. Just make sure you google and read all its requirements as I haven't covered much in my write up. Including that that are a very large vine, leaf and bloom and should be planted to the very 'back of the garden' onto something stable to climb. They prefer shade-semi shade. Because they are large and carnivorous the exude a pheromone to draw in their prey. It's not a pretty flower smell but more of a 'molten soil' type odor when up close to the plant. Therefore keep this in mind when deciding where you will be sipping your afternoon mint-juleps. Also, I will list 1 or 2 more smaller auctions over the next week in case you miss this one.

I looked up the zones and it looks like it wouldn't do well in my area, Northern Lower Mi. that bummed me out, this is such a unique plant I would really like having one.
I still might bid and try making it a house plant.
Already a fan, watching and maybe bidding.
Great auction!

Hi Ms. Brenda :) You're a true gardener at heart, lol, we always think we can grow anything anywhere. But these days with the changing weather...who knows maybe we can. That said...I would warn that this particular pipevine would have a struggle to survive indoors. It's root system is very large plus, your home wouldn't have enough insects for it to feed on and it doesn't smell like roses. But if you google pipevines you will see their is one, Aristolochia foetida, that is very small and I think 'adorable' that would probably do well potted by a good warm southern window and then put out for spring.

Hey JW . . .don't you just love a multi-tasking plant :] A gorgeous privacy fence and fly swatter! The seeds come wrapped in glassine bags with basic germination directions. The reason for the glassine is because unless properly dried and dormant, seeds are living and need to breathe. Plastic is used to germinate because it traps moisture. Also, I send my winners a link to my 1:00 minute Easy Peasy Germination Video and growing tips :) And of course you can jot a note if you have questions that I can help with. I'm no expert-just a southern gardener.

Dear V I already bookmarked your page so I can get to the link easy and post it to my Mom's wall so she'll know what to do. I had two Venus Flytraps and my Mom helped me take care of them she's such a Plant Pro. lol And thank you. :)

ty JW...since Venus Flytraps are very hard to keep alive-your mom should have no problem with Pipevine who requires less care. Interestingly, the origins of Venus was about half a mile from my last home in a NC sound. Because early explorers weren't able to keep them alive beyond their natural habitat, stories of their existence as a 'carnivorous plant with teeth' was long believed to be mythical :)

I was gonna bid on the seeds but my mom isn't too fond of Carnivorous plants and the last time I got seeds from Listia they didn't grow or sprout all she got were these two spindly looking plants. But thank you any way.

You're most welcome. You did mention the carnivorous plants belonged to you and not your mom. As for being cautious about what you will and won't get in the way of seeds...I totally get it. I could write an entire essay on the subject of the huge lucrative black market in fake seeds...which is 'everywhere' seeds are sold or traded. For example; see the Lips on my icon? To make a long story short; It's a real flower from the Amazon, called Psychotria Elata. Today, they are classified as endangered and "near extinct from planet earth"...thus, there are NO seeds to be had,,,yet, everywhere you look, there is this Lip's picture with countless seeds to sell of a plant Bill Gates would have a hard time possessing. So my advice is to google the plant and first see if its real (***there are no psychedelic rose seeds or blue strawberry's) and then note what the seeds look like. If they don't match on arrival you know there's a problem. Also, look at a sellers rating on Listia and read their feedback-that will tell you a lot. There are some amazing gardeners here and believe me when I say, 100% ratings are hard earned and even harder to maintain over a long period of time. Keep the sun on your back and your toes in the dirt my friend :] . . .Vikki
