Description

The listing, 1 RARE EXOTIC Hyphaene thebaica Egyptian Doum Palm tree seed has ended.

The legendary Doum palm from North-east Africa was

well known to the ancient Egyptians who buried large

numbers of the fruits in the tombs of their Pharaos.

It is perhaps the most easily recognized of all

palms as it is one of the few that fork or branch. The large

seeds germinate easily and readily, and should be planted in

deep containers since they produce long 'sinkers' before

any top growth is visible. A large tree is a

stunning sight, suitable for warm temperate to tropical

climates and extremely drought tolerant. We are

able to offer these seeds from a true, non hybridized wild

source at a very competitive price. it is being listed with no guarantees of growing because everyone takes care of them different but we will offer other customer tips with your seeds for best results! Only a few

seeds available and one one is being listed on LISTIA. Don’t miss this opportunity! Bid for yours now!!! FREE SHIPPING IF OVER 600 BIDS! SUPER RARE OFFERING!

Yes---that's a great idea! I remember there was a story in the paper about a 2,000 year old seed that was germinated--a date palm in Jerusalem---google it--National Geographic News.

Also one of the oldest living fossils---or plant genera(Jurassic and Triassic periods) is the Ginkgo Tree! I just "wildcrafted" some Ginkgo yesterday from a female tree so I thought I would share that!
