The listing, Midnight blue V shaped ... thing has ended.
I think I mentioned somewhere that while I adored my mother, I rarely understood her. She used to buy vintage clothing at the thrift stores and then cut parts off of them. I asked her one day why she was doing that, and she said that she only bought the dress for that part of it. I just nodded, as adult daughters sometimes do. So I don't know why she cut these parts out or what she was going to do with them. Maybe you can find a use for them.
This one is midnight blue and as you see, V-shaped, and it measures about 8" long by about 8.5" wide. It has beads and sequins on transparent blue fabric.
I know what you mean about those other sites. And humor is almost always a good thing. I can always use a laugh. I would have liked to have met your mother by the way. She sounds like she was a really cool woman.
I struggle with that myself-- which is why I'm loving Listia. It's cool to know my odds and ends will be put to good use, and it makes it easier to give them away.
I like the beaded stuff and fancy fabrics, as I sew for dolls (not baby dolls, grown up realistic looking dolls), so if you're keeping track there's my vote!
Wow, This thing looks like an embellishment for a blouse or a sweater. I dont think there is ever enough fabric for me...Any piece I get soon transforms into something. When my husband's aunt passed away she left a box of craft stuff for me. I was so grateful-it was my "treasure chest" and I spent hours going through it. It did not last very long though :) You have very nice auctions
Appliqué, these are called appliqués. I have much experience, sound like my granny and your mom are quite similar. I think half if my clothes as a child had a sequin appliqués sewn on somewhere. I was 'bling-ed out' before it was called bling.
