The listing, 30+ Habanero Hot Pepper Seeds has ended.

30+ home grown organic habanero hot pepper seeds fresh from this summer's garden. Grown in Arizona for maximum heat. :D

Habanero peppers are 1-1.5" long, orange colored peppers. They have a fantastic citrusy taste and unbelievable heat! Habaneros are a member of the Capsicum chinense species, and are considered the world's hottest pepper! They are often used in making hot sauces, and are excellent in fresh salsas. Also can be used for flavoring, or smoked, or even make your own spicy caribbean jerk sauces and marinades for barbecuing!

Be very careful when handling the seeds or inner parts of this pepper, the oil can be a serious irritant to the skin and eyes!

Maturity: 80-100 Days
Heat: Very Hot
Scoville: 100,000-300,000 units

By the way, when it comes to the added nutritional benefits of eating hot peppers, there are quite a few which are worth mentioning:

• Nutritionally, peppers are very high in vitamin A and vitamin C. A cup of bell peppers has more vitamin C than a cup of orange juice.

• In animal studies, capsaicin the stuff that makes peppers hot, has shown to decrease the size of tumours. Capsaicin appears to attack the mitochondria and kills the cell.

• Got a cold? Feeling stuffy? Eat spicy food! Capsaicin helps clear up mucus from your nose and lungs. It also provides the body with vitamin C.

• Capsiacin has been linked to several other diseases as well. It has been found to be effective in fighting inflammation, providing pain relief,  strengthening the immune system, reducing the spread of prostate cancer and lessening the risk of type 2 diabetes.

• Another benefit worth mentioning is the effects of peppers on our cardiovascular system. The intake of hot chili peppers has been linked to reducing cholesterol and the risk of having a heart attack.
