this is a western digital hard drive
dont know anything about it. was told no operating system on it . so im assuming its blank. i dont have a operating system disc to put on it so i dont need it .and i have no way to test it so good luck happy bidding .this hd was made june 2009 so it is under a year old

to clear people's questions on ATA, PATA, and SATA;
ATA and PATA are IDE interfaces they will fit any computer that is IDE ready SATA though is specific and unless you have an adapter you cannot use these with an IDE cable

thank you for clearing that up for me that is why i wrote everthing that was wrote on hd cause im only learning i dont even know what sata is and people keep asking

for educational purposes IDE interface has pins in the back of the drive that cords have to plug into to run and be used, SATA has a card looking plug on it that is used some have the old Molex power but most have a SATA power also that is simply a bigger version of the card looking pin for there power access

its for a desktop and ide not sata i dont know much all i know is it is untestested i donmt have a oprerating systenm disc .the guy who gave it to me says i need to put operating system in it that is why i listed as un tested cause i have no way of testing it
