Some random "SHURIKEN" information:
A shuriken (Japanese; literally: "sword hidden in the hand") is a traditional Japanese concealed weapon that was generally used for throwing, and sometimes stabbing or slashing. They are sharpened hand-held blades made from a variety of everyday items such as needles, nails, and knives, as well as coins, washers, and other flat plates of metal.
Shuriken are commonly known in the West as "throwing stars", "ninja stars" or inaccurately as "Chinese stars", though they took many different shapes and designs during the time they were used.
The ninja's throwing stars are called shuriken, they come in countless shapes, but there are two basic types: straightbladed and multi pointed. Multiple point stars are called Shaken. The star shuriken could also could be the "invisible attacker." They slice through the air before they find their target. When thrown accurately and at the right angles, they are sure to find their target. If a guard or enemy stood out in a cleared area, the ninja hidden in shrubs or beside a wall would throw shurikens in a spinning manner. The blades would cut the startled enemy and then fly off into the grass or dirt out of sight. The bewildered enemy, havine been slashed by an invisible swordsman, would then take off to seek help, leaving the area unguarded. Though a shuriken can hardly go thru an armor protection, it was mostly thrown at unarmed targets. Venom was used on shuriken sometimes.
