These brass buckles were found in the late 60's~early 1970's. My Dad bought this one at the Craftsbury Common Art Fair (in Vermont). He sure loved belt buckles! This measures 3 7/8 inches by 2 3/4 inches, and it's heavy!On the back side it has: American Express Co. recommend Kyanize brass polish. It has the words rare stones, a NTY inside of a chevron, Tiffany Broadway New York under the wire loop. There is an Ad for Kyanize brass polish on a picture of a gallon tin can container (Which it looks like it could use!) and some other text we can't make out.
It's in really good shape for half a century old...a little polish wouldn't hurt, but the patina looks rather nice on this side of americana. :o)
