I use HP Photosmart software, which is a free download. Takes a little time to learn it but once you do the photo editing goes really quickly. It's a little limiting, I'd actually like some different sort of software but other free downloads from camera retailers I've tried is not as good. I have an old computer, so I'm afraid to put new software on my computer, it will probably just crash it!

Every camera has a difference minimum focal length. I like my Canon cameras best for shooting small items, but I still can't get close enough to photograph a small item with clear detail. I also don't use a flash, but use a bright daylight-color desk lamp (like a craft lamp, or the "Reveal" or other daylight color bulbs). The flash tends to wash out the color, so a bright lamp works best for jewelry.

Can I make a suggestion? Take your photos from a little further away so they are in focus, then crop them with photo software. That's how I get all those clear closeups in my listings.
