Hi, 1966 is a copy right date Mattel uses on the bodies. She's either from the 90's or the 2,000's :-)

I have Barbie's stamped 1999, 2006, and 1966. Why would they stamp a doll 1966 if it's from one of the other dates? If I didn't have dolls stamped in specific dates from those periods it would make sense.

I am far from a Barbie expert! I take abused, usually nude dolls, with gnarly, matted hair and return them to pretty dolls a girl would love to have and play with. I appreciate anyone that is willing to share their knowledge!

I do the same thing with dolls. Mattel has different copy rights for different types of bodies. They have a few different kinds now. If you look up Barbie's from 1966 you'll see how very different they are and the way older ones are more collectible and of course more expensive. The best looking Barbie's that Mattel has now are the collectible ones that they put out and are gorgeous but are a bit pricey.
I still love my Barbies but I ADORE MH dolls :-)

The 1966 dolls eyes are diff the than the ones now. I don't think They are as pretty then as now

This one has a bigger body all areas than the newer stamped dolls. She is wearing all her original jewelry and her hairstyle is original as well.

I agree with the body size I recently added an older Barbie to my collection and none of the newer clothes fit her they are all to small.

The newer Barbie's have smaller busts and bigger hips. I prefer the older Barbies myself and my vintage ones are my absolute favorites besides the collectibles . I have quite a large collection of Barbie dolls and items and tons of books to identify them. i wish they would put out books like that about MH dolls !!

At least the MH dolls have interchangeable parts, clothes, shoes, and accessories. People ask if dresses will fit their Barbie but you have to see what years they will work on.
