The listing, Datura seeds, 50+ has ended.
On offer are 25+fresh seeds of Datura inoxia and 25+ fresh seeds of Datura stramonium.
Datura flowers nearly all summer long. The inoxia flowers are about 6 inches long, white, trumpet-shaped, and beautifully fragrant. Typically they open at night, and hence are sometimes called “moonflowers”. Because of their shape, they are sometimes called trumpet flowers (but should not be confused with brugmansia). Stramonium flowers are lavender and smaller. Datura grow a ball of seeds covered with spines. Eventually the ball bursts, and it is time to harvest the seeds. It is one of the plants that flourishes in central Texas, where conditions are harsh, as it wards off pests with its own poison (so exercise caution around pets and children). The plant goes dormant here in central Texas over the winter (they are said to be perennials in zones 5-10), but re-emerges, growing larger and larger, each spring. It is also easy to cultivate from seeds. Just plant them about an inch deep.
