Description

The listing, Fingerless Gloves mitts CHOOSE ANY COLOR handmade crochet has ended.

These fingerless gloves are awesome! What a great accessory to add to your wardrobe. These mitts keep your hands warm while allowing full use of your fingers. On top of that, they look totally cool with the latest looks.

Color: Choose any color you want!! It doesn't have to be a color pictured here
Style: choose from 3 different trims: Tell me the photo of the style you want- picot, plain, or scalloped.
Photo 1 has plain, straight edges
Photo 2,7, & 8 have a scallop trim
Photo 3, 5 & 6 have picot trim

Size: One-size fits most
measurements, laid flat: approx.10.5 x 4 inches at longest point

I make these fingerless gloves 100% acrylic yarn in an awesome pattern designed by Jaybird Designs. I use Red Heart Soft or Caron Simply Soft yarns for these; occasionally I will use "Impeccable" or another comparable yarn when the super soft brands are not available in the color you want.

@*@*@ATTENTION@*@*@
I will make your gloves to order and ship them within 4-5 days from when you send me your choice of color & Listia-verified shipping address. Please do not bid if you can't agree to wait. I can't make them if you don't give me time.
@*@*@*@*@
ANSWERS TO YOUR FAQ: I can not make these in a checkerboard pattern, and I will not make them striped. They just don't come out right when I do that. I can make multicolor gloves if the yarn itself is multicolor. I can not alter this pattern to make them longer- that takes too much guess-work on my end, which translates into odd-looking gloves. I will eventually find a longer pattern to use, but until then, this is it!

Hi.. You probably dont remember me but you made me some black ones a while back.. I LOVE them, and now that its cold out I wear them all the time! I am going to bid, and hopefully get another pair. Could you make small ones too? for a child size? My daughter is 5 and she loves the ones you made me.. we both like the finger less gloves. Thanks

Yes, I remember you! Thank you!

I have never tried making this particular style in children's size, maybe it's time I figured out a pattern for it. I've made plain ones before.

VERY cool!! I don't have enough credits right now but I have some auctions ending soon... Fanned watching and bidding in a few days! =) I'm so jealous of people that can knit/sew! I'm making a Christmas stocking for my little boy (this will be his first Christmas!!) and let's just say its more than I bargained for! But "made by mom" is so special, I still have the stocking my grandmother made for me when I was born!

I'm sure you will do just fine =) You're right, homemade makes it special. Machine-made things are so impersonal! I still have the stocking that my mom made me when I was little. There's alot of love and care that goes into handmade items that really seems to leave a lasting impression. Thank you for stopping by, and good luck with your auctions!

I actually started with scarves & once I got comfortable I started with blankets but ya it takes so stinkin long to finish. Even using a large hook! Scarves are fun because like you said there are lots of different ways to do them plus I can finish in 2days. I'm still learning different stitches & perfecting but my items have sure gotten better since my 1st couple scarves Lol. Thanks for this auction!

Yep! I stand by that completely! Making scarves gives the practice and the confidence needed to try new and exciting things! I was about ready to give up on crochet altogether until I started making scarves.

lol thank you! I wish I could take credit for the pattern- I got it on etsy. I have made so many of these that I now have the pattern memorized!

I have tried knitting, but my fingers and hands don't want to work that way lol So now I'm sticking with crochet

Hello Linda =)
I have heard that they do indeed help with arthritis. I know they keep my hands cozy when I'm sitting at the computer, and they also seem to help a little when my hands cramp up while crocheting! Thank you for the compliment!

I can not do that because the lady who designed these has a copyright on the pattern. I can't give it away, distribute, or sell it, sorry!

OO and I know you had to alter mine a little but is it possible to make the thumb holes a BIT smaller. I understand hands are all different and if you can't its fine! They are still great!
Oct 31st, 2011 at 12:12:27 PM PDT by
Original
I can make them smaller around by one row, but I'm not sure how comfortable that would be- it's meant to go around the base of the thumb and allow for complete mobility.

LOVE the idea of making them for kids!! I wore them this morning to the store and they worked GEAT for what I needed them for. Then I looked back and thought of my dear daughters little hands and how bad she hates gloves because she cant grab or pick up anything!! If you figure out how to do little ones like 12-24 months Id REALLY appreciate and and I'd buy a pair. Would even Like a pair for my son 4T I can send hand measurements if it would have to get a round about size..:) Thanks!!!

I'm going to have to do some research, trial, and error before I can confidently offer children's gloves in this style. I'm not quite the whiz I might seem to be lol

I love these! I can only do blankets & wish I could fig out how to do other things. My best friend is really good at being able to just crochet something she see's. Fanned & watching :)
Oct 30th, 2011 at 8:37:40 PM PDT by

I started with blankets, then I quickly found out that I don't have the patience for them! I feel that small projects like these are much more gratifying to me. It's so cool to start with a ball of yarn, and then a couple hours later I've turned it into something I can wear! Have you tried scarves? There's alot of versatility in making scarves since you can make them in any length or width, and with any combination of yarn! You don't even need a pattern, really. It's how I perfected my stitches- before that, everything I made came out all wonky and weird.
