Replica of the Bell X-1, I took these photos in 1997 at The Air Venture Airshow in Oshkosh, Wisconsin at Wiitman Regional Airport. I have been to airshow since 1978. I have been a Minnesota Air National Guard Museum Volunteer. The museum has been in existence for 31 years. I am one of four volunteers who have been around the museum more than 25 years. I was never in military service due to my asthma. I have studied aviation and military history for the last 40 + years since I was a freshman in in a military high school in the US Army Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps Program. 99.9% of our volunteer are retired military and they consider me to be a walking encyclopedia.
