So sorry for taking so long to get back to you. Yes this is a smoke free home but I did get the books from a book sale so there is a possibility that they have been exposed to smoke in the past. I smelled them and they seem fine but I cannot guarantee it honestly. Thank you for asking. I do understand now, my daughter has allergies.
