The listing, RARE The Tales of Beedle the Bard 1st Edition - Harry Potter UK Edition Bloomsbury for Collectors has ended.

This is a rare 1st Edition Hardcover copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling (like I needed to tell you the author, LOL). This version was only available in the U.K., & it is not in print anymore. It was publish by Bloomsbury/The Children's High Level Group in 2008.

This is a very good copy. It has two nicks in the binding (one is about 6 mm long and the other is about 1 mm long...the nicks occurred when it was being shipped to me because it came to me from England) & there is a tiny brown spot on the title page (it looks like it's a part of the paper & that someone didn't put it there). I have posted pictures. Other than that, this book is in great condition (I never even read it! Granted, I haven't thumbed through all the pages, but they all appear to be crease-free, stain-free, dogeared-free, and rip-free). The book looks like it has never been read.

I am giving this book away because my boyfriend bought the standard edition of The Tales of Beedle the Bard when we went to see the Harry Potter exhibit in NY, & we don't need two editions of the same book. Also, I'm taking advantage of the Listia 50 extra credits special & I wanted to give a special book away that someone would really love. This book is probably going to make a Harry Potter fan really happy for Christmas (or just really happy)!

Comes from a smoke-free, hairy pet-free home (I have a snake and gecko, but they can do no harm : ) ).

I would have been willing to sell this on e-bay, but I wanted to take advantage of Listia's promotion of 50 free credits for listing a book. Of course I can! No problem. Just so you know, there were three editions that this book was published as: a first edition available only in the U.K. (it is the British edition and it has a blue cover and it was published by Bloomsbury), a standard edition available in the U.S. (it has a brown cover and it was published by Scholastic), and collector's edition printed by Amazon. This book is not one of the very first 7 British handmade editions (it would be worth $3.98 million if it were and I would sell it and retire!) But, it is one of the British first editions, as indicated by the 10 numbers printed at the bottom of the page in the 5th pic: 1 3 5 7 9 10 8 6 4 2 (notice "1" is the first number...this is common with first edition books). This website describes how to the number system works a little bit: http://www.emptymirrorbooks.com/collecting/firstedition.html (it's confusing to know if a book is a first edition because it almost never explicitly states it in a book (because that would make too much sense)! Instead, you have to know what to look for).
