I also somewhere have a matching ring, except without the turquoise. I call it the wave ring, it looks like ocean waves to me! The ring is marked 925, but is and always was a ring. This was a broach prior to going on a chain. Hope it helps. Will try for a second picture, but hard for me.

Are there any markings? Alpaca 925 or sterling

I cannot see any but this has been in my family a very long time. We actually used to sell Sterling and turquoise Indian jewelry. I also have the matching ring, but not accessible at present. I took a picture of the back and I think the piece that allows it to be worn on a chain is covering it. It is not even a tiny bit magnetic.
We also never sold fakes.

I think when the person added silver to make it usable on a necklace they covered up the 925. I had a lot of Indian jewelry. Slowly ridding it, as I am broke and disabled. Not sure if it shows anything on back. Had both when I got it many years ago.

Also sorry to hear you were hurt in Hurricane Sandy! Where I live it did a lot of property damage , but nobody out here was hurt that I know of! I was amazed because trees were all over the place! We had wires down every which way! It was about two weeks before electricity came on! (I was enjoying smores outside on the barbecue though! Lol! But that was about all we had to eat! Most of my neighbors left us , behind! But I didn't want to leave my pets alone here!)
