Questions & Comments
Beautiful and fascinating! Do you know anything about it's history? How did it come to you? Do you know where it was made? How wide is it? Thank you very much.
I've had this for a number of years and cannotv recall where i found it.As an antique dealer i find things constantly and if in an impersonal setting ei.auction, estate sale stc.i never remember,However,as soon as i saw it i knew it was a stunning piece of work by a master weaver and made off with it.And as much as i love everything i find i just can't keep it all try as i might.you can't be an antique dealer and hoard at the same time.the width is approx 9.5". it is also clear that the weaver had a very strong background in primitive and early american design.Hope this helps.thank you for watching,i appreciate it.go safely sheila
don't know what happened to my answer robyn.don't know how it got that garbled. My comment /reply site has been acting weird for the past 2 days.i'm a bad typer but not that bad.:)
tht's okay. You should see me trying to input tracking nusY'd de laughi.e to hunteck i' squn pck :0.The thing is,date aside, the hanging is a truly stunning piece of work.I don't know what it takes to do a jaquard pattern like this but i'm sure the weaver was a master.I think it has to be seen in person to really be able to marvel at what she/he created.thank you for watching.go safely sheila
