FREE: Gorgeous Purple Flower Brooch?

I'm not exactly positive what this is. I found it while going through my Great Grandma's things after she passed away. There isn't any stamping of any kind on it so it's not real, just really pretty. It might have been a brooch at one point. Now there's just a tube like thing on the back. I used in my hair once, I put a bobby pin through the tube and it worked that way, and it was cute. It's approximately an inch and a half at it's longest length. In the light of a room the white looks slightly more yellowey (like the second picture) but in the sunlight it looks like the first picture. I think it's so pretty, but I don't use it very much, I always forget I have it. So I'm putting it up here :)
