Hi! It's a new endeavor this year for me to grow cocoa and coffee. I ordered these beans and received them four days ago. I got over twenty and I don't have space for that many. They came from Sri Lanka.

No but it was kept moist. I sprouted them before listing them just to make sure they are viable.

@ We spent some time in Belize where I seen them harvested directly from various varieties of whole
Pods .
actually saw those on a Vanilla Bean Farm we went on a short tour of.

Which Vanilla Bean is another one I would love to try to grow myself but have not YET. :-)
Belize Spice Farm on Facebook.

Small farm but really cool one, they also grow some of the most tasty pepper ( to grind) spice we ever had , brought little home as well. Very cool.

From my limited understanding as the cocoa - is one I have never grown either, once the seed dries out, it's no longer viable.

I believe it's one of those that must be grown fresh or meaning or it cannot be "stored" and maintained very well if it goes dry , prior to sprouting.

So thanks for the kind response. *

In ( not so short response to yours) lol
I did understand your response but noted,
not an expert on this plant, just a backyard hobby gardener.

Looks like a totally fun one to try to grow.! Cool!
Best of Luck with it! & Happy gardening. :)

What zone do you live in? Are you planting outdoors? Does this require two trees to pollinate? Thanks. Nice auction
