This book reading light was pretty difficult to get a good visual picture but if you will look carefully, there is a plastic u shaped plastic front that goes under the book page and the one right inside that that goes on top of your page-this allowing it to settle on your book. Then you just press the blue part of the light down and the actually light turns on. Runs on 2 AAA batteries.Great little light!
