The listing, 1969 Topps Deckle Edge TOMMY DAVIS (Seattle Pilots) 2x Batting Champion has ended.
Deckle Edge cards were an early Topps insert. That's right, inserts happened long before then 1990s.
A two-time batting champion who compiled over 2100 hits and 1000 RBI in his career, that never stopped Davis from being a piece of oft-moved trade bait. He played with 10 teams in his 18 year career, but is best remembered for his time with the Dodgers (8 years) and Orioles (4 years).
Davis was selected by the Seattle Pilots (Milwaukee Brewers) from the Chicago White Sox in the expansion draft following the 1968 season; he is pictured here in White Sox garb with the logo very crudely removed from his cap. The Seattle Pilots ultimately lasted only one season in Seattle.
