This set I bought at an estate sale. The sticker on the back is still readable and states it is a Marshall Field Co Retail item and there is some digits too but the lettering is weak so I can't really make it out. The birds are made of porcelain I believe but I am not sure. I think the lady said they were made in either Japan or the USA. Not sure. As you see from all angles of the photos above there is no chips, breaks or cracks but the stoppers are missing. Black ink marking on the bottom of one 282. Not sure what this means. The bottoms feel a bit rough and indicates sitting traces or wear. I don't know what to call the birdies other than soaring birds. They are nearly 3" tall.
